Overview

Kelly Watkins’ style of Executive Coaching is focused on improving skills and behavior to help individuals be more effective leaders and make a more positive impact at their companies. The goal is to assist individuals in being more professional, productive, and personally fulfilled – while helping their companies to be more successful. This isn’t life coaching or career coaching. This is one-on-one consulting for executives and leaders.

A typical time-frame is 6 to 12 months. Many of the elements listed in the Process below can be expanded or eliminated – depending on budget and desired results. (Note: The term “Client” refers to the individual being coached.)

Executive Coaching Process

Preliminary Consultation

Discussion with the Client to determine if he/she wants to be coached. Is the Client willing to make the commitment? Does he/she have the right mindset, attitude, and willingness to learn/grow/change? Is he/she willing to invest time and energy?

Starting Point

 

Pre-Assessment

  • 360 Assessment (tailored to Client’s needs), including interviews with stakeholders

  • Coach’s observation of Client on site                                    (optional, but highly recommended)

One-on-One Coaching

  • Most sessions occur over phone

  • Occasional on-site sessions are highly recommended

Online Professional Development Program (Skills Building)

 

The Coaching sessions are supplemented with an Online Professional Development Program. This highly-interactive program focuses on teaching skills and creating opportunities for the Client to implement the skills – while
receiving feedback on his/her individual progress

Mid-Assessment

 

  • Coach conducts interviews with all key players

  • Coach conducts on-site observation of Client

 

Final Assessment

 

  • Coach conducts interviews with all key players

  • Coach provides an evaluation
